5ml syringe vs 5ml spoon

Gripe water says use a 5ml spoon so I've been using the 5ml syringe as it's easier to give to our son but look at this!!
If u put the 5ml from syringe to a 5ml spoon its very different!!! There is still 2.5ml left in the syringe that means we have given too much!!
And yup it's a 5ml spoon...

I had to collect a prescription for my youngest a few weeks ago and the pharmacist apologised for the spoon being wet - he was checking them all as he'd been told that quite a few measuring spoons haven't been made correctly or something.
