First post on here so apologies if it’s in the wrong place. We are going on our first holiday since DD was born and we are unsure about taking the buggy away with us. DD turns 4 whilst we are on holiday and admittedly we still use the buggy quite a lot at home. I am keen to take it as I know it will be very hot which means she might get quite tired in the day and just want to be pushed. We are also hoping that she will sleep in the buggy so that we aren’t bound to the hotel in the evenings or if she’s tired. My sister has just got back off holiday and took a buggy for her little one and said it was a lifesaver.

Does anyone have any experience/thoughts? Is it ridiculous

No it’s absolutely fine, I ended up having to buy a kiddy cart to use when we went to Florida because my 6 year old got far too tired of all the walking, and she fell asleep in it several times on the way out of the parks, so taking a pram for your 3 nearly 4 year old is definitely a good idea

Hey hun I would definitely take it with you, when I went away with my partner and our son to turkey it really was a lifesaver for the exact reasons you have mentioned he was 3 and the heat made him more sleepy than normal and it saved me having to carry him around also if we went for a late dinner or drinks he had somewhere to sleep and also somewhere for him to chill on the beach too.

Totally depends on your child, if you still use it at home regularly then it could come in handy. We see plenty of people out and about with a sleepy child in the buggy so it obviously works for many.

We took ours when our eldest was around 2 and didn't use it that much. As soon as my three could walk well, at around 18 months, they hated the pram/buggy. There was no way they would fall asleep out and about as there was too much going on. We put them to sleep in our hotel room, we had dinner from hotel restaurant and a glass of wine on our balcony most nights. We still enjoyed our evening but went to bed handy as kids were up at the break of dawn 😂

I didn't take mine with me as it would be alot of lugging about, but I did hire one while there as it was only 5 euros for the week.

This is what we are hoping lol, sort her out and then try to get her to sleep in the buggy so me and my husband can enjoy a meal.

My daughter is 4 in July and I use a cheap £20 one from Amazon that folds down really small so I can just carry it with one hand when going up and down steps. I just use it for days out so she has the option. We went to London for the day and I could literally just drop it down while still walking and carry it on to the tubes whilst holding my little girls hand. Worked really well otherwise she would never have managed all the sight seeing we did and didn't spoil it for my eldest who wanted to see everything.

Oh just take it, why is it ridiculous? We took it for our dd last year, she was nearly 4 at the time. We hadnt used bit at hoke for a a while but the beach was 30 min walk away and it was hot, no way she'd have walked without needing carrying. It definitely made life easier.
