My ex and I split up just over a year ago. He has met someone in Canada. Our son is 8 and has severe learning difficulties, is non verbal and has Autism. I'm just at a loss at what to do. I have explained my concerns to my ex and made him well aware that I'm not happy about his decision to move to another country especially considering the needs of our son. But he just doesn't seem to care. I just don't know what to do. Any advice? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Oh I'm sorry, that's incredibly awful and selfish of him. You should say to him imagine you decided to do that, what would happen to your son then?! Does he have much to do with your son at the moment? Is he much help? Do you have family and other people you can lean on for support? He sounds like a waste of space and you might not be much worse off without him, as hurtful as it is. Xx

Oh I have said to him multiple times, explained various scenarios and he just doesn't seem to understand. He is quite helpful with our son and has him a couple of days after school and keeps him overnight on a Saturday. As for family support...the last time anyone had him must be at least 6 years ago. I don't think they know how to handle him so I understand. So I'm just becoming extremely stressed knowing that I will be left to deal with everything. Like even now my son won't sleep on his own so a Saturday night is the only time I get a full night's sleep.
