I’m a first time mum to a 16 day old baby and I was wondering if anyone please had any advice. I’m on my first pack of asda little angels newborn (size 1) nappies, and I don’t know if it’s a dodgy batch or if the nappies themselves are just terrible.

Our baby is pooing, and it’s not a considerable amount, but the poo is seeping through the nappy. When I say this, I don’t mean it’s coming up out of the opening at the back or through her legs, but I mean the actual nappy can’t hold the amount and the nappy itself leaks.

Has anyone else experienced this?

What nappies do others recommend?

I used pampers that we were gifted previously but £10 for 80 nappies just isn’t affordable for us unfortunately ☹️

For some extra information, the baby is 7lb 3oz so they aren’t too small on her. She is also breastfed, I don’t know if this would make a difference!

Wow!

I used to use Asda nappies, for months. But recently they changed them, the fit and quality is terrible. They are too big and leak but the size down is too small.

Have you tried a different supermarkets nappies? That worked for us then we changed to pull ups.

I use Asda nappies and don’t have any problems with them.

maybe your right in thinking they are a bad batch.

We were really happy with the Asda nappies until a couple of months ago, but they changed the design and they just don’t fit as well and we’re constantly leaking. Since then we’ve tried Aldi which were better but don’t last 12hrs overnight so we’ve switched to pampers now although resent paying so much for nappies 🙈

That doesn't sound right at all!

personally I think different brands suit different babies and it's a bit of trial and error initially. Current baby is best in Sainsburys own, (even better than pampers!) she goes 12 hours at night easily and no more poonami! 😂

there's plenty of affordable choice nowadays, you'll soon find what works for you and little one 😊

My daughters 2 weeks old and we got given several different nappy brands. I don’t like the Asda ones they leak! Tesco, aldi and pampers have all been fine but I think tesco are my favourite ❤️
