Hi Lothifa

I'm Catherine, one of the Parent Supporters here at Netmums. Thank you for reaching out.

Lothifa, are you worried about your 7 year old? It can be really normal for kids to have periods of feeling worried or anxious but it can be tough as a parent to see your child struggling - sending you a gentle hug this morning. I notice you've asked about physical symptoms, Lothifa. Some of the things you might notice is that they may seem more restless or unsettled or they may retreat and seem more quiet and withdrawn. Their sleep and eating might change or they might be looking for more reassurance and comfort from you. It can be really helpful to reassure them that it is normal to feel worried and give plenty of cuddles if that helps your child. It can also be really useful to try and keep your normal routines in place as much as possible, especially if you find your little one's eating or sleeping is affected. The NHS has more information on anxiety in kids. I'll link it here: Anxiety in children - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

Often they will start to feel better without any professional help but if you feel that it something that is lingering or you are worried about the impact of the symptoms then contact your GP who can see what supports are available locally for your little one.

Hopefully some of our lovely community will be along soon to offer support but in the meantime, please come back to us if you would like to chat some more.

Take care

Catherine
