Hi all, hopefully this is posted in the right group. I wasn’t sure what topic it fell under 🙈. We are taking going away for the first time since our twins have arrived. The girls are 3 (turn 4 in June) and have been daytime trained for a couple of months. The flight is 9hrs and I am slightly worried about them having an accident. They are still not dry at night so wear a nappy but I know this is completely normal and takes a bit longer than daytime dryness. Would it be unreasonable to pop their night nappies on them for the flight in case of an accident?

We fly at 7am so need to leave the house at about 2am so we are planning on keeping the girls in their pj’s/comfy clothes in the buggy with a hope that they will sleep as much as possible but should I keep their nappies on for the flight as if they fall asleep they will definitely have an accident.

It’s a tough one as I know they aren’t babies anymore but I know they would be more embarrassed having an accident and needing their clothes changed than keeping having a nappy on just in case.

In this situation I probably would, we have just gotten back from being away with our daughter who is a similar age and I changed her into a pull up for the flight. I told her they were special flight pants and she did not kick up a fuss. She fell asleep for the majority of the flight and in the taxi to the hotel and her pull up was sodden by the time we got to the hotel. The flight home was a night flight so there was lots of little ones in pj’s so I don’t think there is anything to be embarrassed about. From experience I would practise standing nappy changes or use pull ups as you will not be able to change an older toddler in the tiny toilet
