Hi everyone, so I have a massive sand pit outside with a lid and am looking for sand to fill it up with. My hubby has said kiln dried sand or silver sand is the same as play sand and I can use this.. what’s the thoughts? The only thing that I can see is that it contains silica but so do most play sand and I’ve seen online silica isn’t a problem with kids playing with sand. Just being an over protective mum I think lol x

Personally I wouldn’t use kiln dried sand it has less moisture and is designed for construction projects. It won’t compact to build sandcastles etc.

Play sand has not been dried so it

can clump together more, also it’s far less course
