Ovulation question

We are on cycle 4 TTC and I have a 25/26 day cycle. I have used the ovulation testing strips the last two cycles and I got the LH surge on CD18 last cycle and CD19 this cycle. Not great for the luteal phase!
Anyway, this cycle I had basically zero CM for the most part, especially those few days leading up to the LH surge and even the couple of days after. Now on CD22 and I have A LOT of EWCM. So confused as to what this means, as I thought EWCM meant you were ovulating, or at least about to!
Also my basal temp has not drastically increased since (what I thought was) ovulation.
I am getting a progesterone blood test today so I guess that will shed some light, but thought I would post on here to see if anyone has experienced similar.
