A great blender and steamer... But.

A great idea and good product BUT if you alreadt have a blender or a steamer then i doubt you need one of these. It combines these two things and works well. It's easy to clean and makes just the right amount for one or two meals so you're not stuck freezing and defrosting which i hate! But for that it's an expensive product. I recommend that you either buy a decent blender and steamer that you'll use after or buy this off ebay second hand for about £25-£30.

Time saver - Very handy

I was given the Philips Avent Steamer Steriliser as a present and it has been extremely handy. It is a very compact size, being no wider than a kettle and so fits neatly into my modest kitchen. It is extremely easy to operate, with only two settings, one for steam and one for blend. The amount of water you add dictates the time the steamer will steam for, and most vegetables and meat fall into two categories with fruit in another so they can be easily figured out without having to go through the instruction manual each time you want to cook something. Once your food is steamed it is easy to blend with a quick turn of the jug. Whether you want to make baby puree or chunkier mush, both are easy to do and blended in seconds. The steamer comes with a spatula that makes getting the food out fairly straight forward and relatively mess free. The only downside to this product is that the compact size does restrict the amount you can cook at once. Cleaning is also slightly fiddly, but the good qualities far outweigh the bad for this product. I would recommend this product to anyone who is about to start baby weaning.
