Things to do with kids in Hereford and Herefordshire

If your family loves the rural life, you’ll find plenty to entertain you in Hereford and the Wye Valley, on the England-Wales border.

The area features pretty market towns that still host regular markets and car boot sales , breathtaking countryside and white-knuckle activities for thrill seekers.

There are heaps of things to do with kids in Hereford and Herefordshire, many centred around the River Wye, where you can try your hand at rock climbing, mountain biking and even white water rafting.

On the doorstep are the Forest of Dean, Clearwell Caves, Goodrich Castle and Symonds Yat: an area of outstanding natural beauty and nesting site for peregrine falcons. You can even walk with llamas!

Herefordshire is home to lots of interesting museums, including the Mappa Mundi Museum, which holds the largest surviving map of the world, and the Time Machine Museum: perfect for Dr Who fans.
