How families can easily claim £5 to spend at Asda

Last modified on Monday 17 April 2023

Shoppers who sign up to the Asda Rewards system and scan the app for the first time can get a FREE £5 under the supermarket's ‘First Scan Bonus’

If Asda is your go-to supermarket for the weekly shop, you'll be pleased to hear there's a super simple way to get £5 to spend in store.

The retail giant has reintroduced its 'fiver cash offer' to those who sign up to the Asda Rewards system for the first time and make use of the ‘First Scan Bonus’.

The scheme is being brought back after shoppers earned more than £2 million from the bonus when it was initially introduced in February.

How do I get £5?

All shoppers need to do to claim their reward is download the Asda Rewards app, set up an account, and scan the app in store for the first time.

This means they will get a fiver added to their Cashpot top-up.

There is no minimum spend needed to receive the bonus, and its available to claim both online and in-store.

The offer is available from 12 April to 3 May – so families should make use of it while they can.

If you already have Asda Rewards downloaded but haven't scanned the app for the first time yet, you can also still make use of the reward.

Shoppers can create vouchers to spend

The Asda Rewards loyalty scheme was first launched in August 2022, and lets shoppers collect 'pounds' in their 'Cashpot' within the app.

Customers can then use their accumulated cash to create vouchers to spend in the supermarket.

Vouchers can be created using as little as £1 or as much as £100 for bigger rewards.

App available on Apple Store and Google Play

The handy app is available to download from both the Apple Store and Google Play Store.

And, the Asda £5 offer isn't the only supermarket news parents need to be aware of.
