Tips
Gram flour is made from chickpeas and is naturally gluten free, making these pancakes perfect for any gluten-free family members or little ones.
Serve with strawberries, blueberries or chopped banana, along with a dollop of coconut yoghurt (or any dairy-free yoghurt of your choice).
Other delicious (and healthy) topping ideas include caramelised apples and raisins, mango and coconut, or a sprinkle of pistachio nuts (though remember that whole nuts shouldn’t be given to children under five, as these are a choking hazard for babies and children). Here's our A-Z of baby food safety.
Variations
Add a sprinkle of cinnamon powder to the batter to turn these into tasty cinnamon pancakes.
You can experiment making other types of flour using your food blender – try oats or red lentils – or check out our overnight oats pancake recipe .
Any leftover pancakes could also be used as an easy tea-time or after-school snack . Just pop them in the toaster or under the grill and spread a little dairy-free butter or top (nut butter and Lotus Biscoff spread also make lovely toppings!). Find out – can babies have peanut butter?
