If you've ever wondered whether your partner might be cheating on you, turns out their facial features could be giving away a lot more than you think.
In fact, according to a new poll, men with bigger noses are more likely to cheat on their partners than those with average or smaller ones.
Yes, that's right, bigger noses.
According to the survey of 2,000 members of illicitencounters.com – the UK's leading married-dating website – 52% of men who admitted to cheating had a bigger than average sized nose.
78% said they thought women found their bigger nose attractive
What's more, of those who cheated, 78% said they thought women found their bigger nose attractive.
Despite this, just 10% of the men reported the women they had cheated with also had a big nose themselves.
The study also found only 18% of those who had cheated had small noses. Who knew?!
'There is something about a man with a big nose that is very sexy'
Spokeswoman Jessica Leoni said: 'Big noses may not be the most attractive feature but there is something about them that conveys an air of masculinity.
Beauty salon assistant from Birmingham, Emily Bamford, 34, also said:
'I don’t know what it is but there is something about a man with a big nose that is very sexy so maybe that’s why they end up cheating more.
'My friends take the Micky out of me because a couple of my boyfriends have had big noses and it has become a bit of thing with me.
'They were both bad lads with a wandering eye but they were always up for a laugh.'
This isn't the first time research has found men with certain facial features more likely to be unfaithful.
Back in 2017, a study published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behaviour found men with a 'high facial width-to-height ratio' might be more likely to cheat and have higher sex drives.
According to the researchers, it's possible that wider faces could be a sign that a man has higher androgen exposure, and that higher androgen exposure could make them more likely to cheat by giving them a higher sex drive.
Study limitations
However, Forbes notes that the research, which actually came from a combo of 2 studies, had various limitations, including relatively small sample sizes and mainly Caucasian participants.
In other words, you may want to take these findings with a pinch of salt before heading off on your next Tinder date.
