Things to do with kids in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire is renowned as the home of legendary outlaw Robin Hood – and of Nottingham Forest FC!

If you’re in the area, you’ll find lots of things to do with kids in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

The East Midlands town is peppered with landmarks, such as the Robin Hood statue, Trent Bridge, which lends its name to the cricket ground, and Nottingham Castle, with its network of underground caves.

Sherwood Forest, the setting for the legend of Robin Hood, is on the doorstep and is the perfect place to get some fresh air and exercise, with nature reserves, family trails to explore, and The Mighty Oak, thought to be between 800 and 1000 years old.

Nearby, there’s a choice of four theme parks, including Robin Hood’s Wheelgate Park, animal encounters at farms and falconry centres, and plenty of opportunities to get active, from horse riding to ice skating.

The youngest members of the family are provided for, too, with a great selection of baby activities taking place in Nottinghamshire. Why not try out baby gymnastics or sensory play, or just drop into one of the area's many baby and toddler groups?
