Gareth said:

'As we get towards the finish line, it's become very much more real. It felt like our lives were on hold but now it feels like we're moving forward. The babies coming along has reinvigorated everything.'

'I filled my ski goggles up with tears'

The couple also spoke about the moment they found out that surrogate Bex was pregnant, as they were on a skiing holiday in the French Alps.

Made in Chelsea star Ollie revealed he was 'absolutely terrified' as he waited back at the chalet for news, as he 'knew' the phone was about to ring.

He said:

'Bex rang and showed me two pictures of two scans and I burst into tears.'

And Gareth added:

'I was on a chairlift and when we got to the top I thought "Ollie has called me so many times. It must be good news". And I spoke to him and, literally, I filled my ski goggles up with tears.'

3 failed attempts

Ollie added that Bex's 1st attempt to get pregnant sadly ended in miscarriage in November 2022, before she successfully conceived earlier this year.

The couple also had 2 other attempts end in failure with a different surrogate, with Ollie admitting they'd been 'numb' for the past couple of years.

'When you get such huge disappointment every time, you forget what you're actually trying to achieve. And that's been heartbreaking; not being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and only seeing the disappointment,' he added.

‘We are beyond delighted'

The couple announced they were to become dads in February, by sharing a video of the pregnancy test and scan on social media.

Ollie captioned the post:

‘We are beyond delighted to finally be able to share the news that we are expecting twin baby Locke-Locke’s into the world this summer!

‘You have all been so wonderful throughout the last 3 years of us trying to have a family and we promise to share every step of this adventure with you all.

‘For all those on their own journey to become parents we are with you and sending all the baby dust your way!

‘Thank you to our sensational surrogate @bex7ward for being the most incredible human, the love we have for you and your family is just another level! Xx’.

Ollie and Gareth, who married in 2020, have previously spoken about their difficult journey to becoming parents. In 2021 and 2022 they revealed that their surrogate had tragically miscarried.

After sharing their happy news, the couple's friends were quick to congratulate them. Ollie's close friend Binky Felstead, who is pregnant with her third child , wrote 'ITS HAPPENING BABBBBBAYYYYY’s !!!!!! 💕💕🤞🏼'
