The Big Sick is based on Silicon Valley actor Kumail Nanjiani and writer Emily V Gordon's real-life love story. It's starts off in the classic 'guy meets girl and falls for her' kind of way, but that girl then falls into a coma.

Although parts of it are sad, this film is actually a very funny watch.

Ahh, a truly classic love story with a splash of war and drama thrown in.

Rick Blaine, played by Humphrey Bogart, owns a bar in Casablanca and discovers his old flame Ilsa, played by Ingrid Bergman, is in town with her husband. Ilsa turns to her ex for help in fleeing the country.

This film isn't exactly a lovey-dovey storyline, so it's a good pick if soppy films aren't your thing. It even starts with the protagonist, Tom, warning the audience that 'this is not a love story.'

Greeting card writer Tom, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, falls in love with new employee Summer, played by Zooey Deschanel.

They become best friends, although they act like lovers, and then all of a sudden she wants to cut things off? There's a happy ending for Summer, but not entirely for Tom.

You might be inclined to pre-judge this film just because it's about teenagers in high school, but it's actually really sweet.

Lara Jean has written a letter to every boy she's ever fancied, but kept them all in a secret box. The letters end up getting delivered to the boys – including her sister's boyfriend – so to cover it up, she forms a fake relationship with schoolmate Peter.

When Tai (Brittany Murphy) told Cher (Alicia Silverstone) that she's 'just a virgin who can't drive', almost all of us could relate ... though perhaps not so much anymore!

The pair end up lying about being engaged just so that Margaret isn't sent back to her place of birth – Canada. Whatever you make of this film, it will never not be funny to watch Margaret and Andrew literally run into each other, and then fall over, totally in the tod.

This film is about what it says on the tin, really. Charles, played by Hugh Grant, attends four weddings and a funeral throughout the movie.

It takes all of those occasions for him to confess to Carrie (Andie MacDowell) how he feels about her. There's plenty of laughter along the way, though! An oldie, but still a goodie.
